Charlotte Hornets @ Indiana Pacers – Analysis and Pick

by John Smith

The Charlotte Hornets play at the Indiana Pacers in tonight’s first game of the new NBA Play-in format. Indiana is -3.5 and the total has dropped from 229 to 227.5. The game starts at 6:40 PM EST.

Charlotte (33-39 SU, 36-35-1 ATS and 31-40-1 on the Over/Unders) won 2 of the 3 games between these two teams in the regular season. They split the first two back in January with each team covering in their win. Charlotte won the last game 114-97 taking advantage of 20 turnovers by Indiana. The Hornets were very shaky lately only covering once against the spread in their last 7 games.

Indiana (34-38 SU, 32-39-1 ATS and 44-27-1 on the Over/Unders) on the other hand has been playing well down the stretch covering 6 with 1 push of their last 7. They did lose their last two games at home. However, those two games were against the Los Angeles Lakers and the Milwaukee Bucks and they covered ATS in both of those games.
I always prefer taking the team that is hot and playing well at the end of the season.

Take the Indiana Pacers at home -3.5
