Houston (32-18 SU, 24-26 ATS) faces Los Angeles (38-11 SU, 26-22-1 ATS) in Staples Center at 10:30 pm EST. The game will be televised on TNT.

Houston has moved into first place in the Southwest Division once again by sweeping their 3-game homestand against Dallas, New Orleans and Charlotte. Russell Westbrook did not play against the Hornets but James Harden had 40 points and 12 assists in the 125-110 victory. The Rockets made 20 of the 60 3-pointers that they attempted. It was the second consecutive 40 point game for Harden.

Westbrook is expected to play agains the Lakers. Both he and Harden grew up in the Los Angeles area.

Houston acquired forwards Robert Covington and Jordan Bell this week in a three-team trade with Minnesota and Atlanta prior to the trade deadline. They sent center Clint Capela to Atlanta in the deal and appear to want to play small ball for the rest of this season.

The Rockets are 20-14 overall against the Western Conference but in the road games they are only 8-9 SU and 9-8 ATS.

The Lakers have won two in a row over Sacramento and San Antonio. Against the Spurs on Tuesday night they scored 21 points in the first 3:31 of the fourth quarter and 42 overall in the quarter to win 129-102.
