The NFL contacted the Browns after they became aware that Odell Beckham Jr wore a watch, and an expensive one at that, during the Brown’s season opener against the Tennessee Titans on Sunday. They told the Browns that Beckham can no longer wear a watch on the field.
League spokesman Michael Signora said, that although there are no rules prohibiting jewelry, there is a policy “prohibiting hard objects.”
“As long as they are going to enforce that with everyone, I’m fine with it,” said head coach Freddie Kitchens. “Let’s just make sure it gets enforced with everybody.”
The fashion forward Beckham wore an orange Richard Mille-designed watch, which retails for more than $250,000, during the Browns loss to the Titans on Sunday.
Beckham the Browns 26-year old wide receiver, who is known for his flashy style and one-handed catches, drove to Sunday’s game at Cleveland’s FirstEnergy Stadium in his customized orange Rolls Royce.
He came to Cleveland in an offseason trade with the New York Giants. In Sunday’s game Beckham had seven catches for seventy-one yards
