Portland Trailblazers @ Phoenix Suns – Analysis and Pick

by John Smith

Phoenix has the second-best record in the NBA at 48-21 but they have faltered lately losing three of their last four games. They are a game and a half behind first place Utah with three games left to play. After tonight’s home game against Portland the play a back-to-back, two-game set against the Spurs in San Antonio.
Portland has won five in a row and nine of their last ten following their 105-98 win in Utah on Wednesday night. In that game their back court tandem of Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum combined for 56 points on 22 of 42 shooting from the field.
Phoenix won both of the previous two games. The Suns won the first game on February 22nd by a score of 132-100 and easily covering the 6.5 point spread. The total went over the number of 226.5. In the second game on March 11th the Suns just slid by covering the 4.5 point spread 127-121 with the over getting a double-digit cover of the 227 number.
Portland remains tied with Dallas for the fifth and sixth spots in the West one game ahead of the Lakers who continue to hang on with seemingly miraculous end of the game heroics. Nassir Little and Zach Collins are out for Portland but the Blazers go as Dame and CJ go and they have been leading the way in impressive fashion during this run in the home stretch.
